The School of Electronic Information and Communications (EIC) at HUST held the Second Hubei Province Information Discipline School Deans’ Meeting successfully on December 18. More than 40 deans and experts from over 10 universities and leading companies in the industry attended the meeting, and had in-depth discussion on topics like school administration, career development of young teachers and scientific projects application.

Zheng Xiaojian, School Committee Chair of EIC, Qiu Caiming, Dean of EIC, and Gong Wei, Dean of the School of Electronic Information School at Wuhan University, addressed the opening ceremony. 16 deans and experts from universities such as Huazhong University, Wuhan University, South-Central Minzu University, Central China Normal University, Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Wuhan Institute of Technology delivered speeches on various topics. Qiu Caiming, Gong Wei, Tang Jiang, Dean of the the School of Optical and Electronic Information at HUST, and Yang Chunyong from South-Central Minzu University shared their experience in school administration and development. Ge Xiaohu, Hu Fei and You Xinge from EIC at HUST and Lu Tao from Wuhan Institute of Technology shared their experience in the management of scientific projects and scientific platforms. Yang Xin and Wang Xinggang from EIC at HUST, Chen Kai from Central China Normal University, and Xiang Sen from Wuhan University of Science and Technology delivered a speech on the development of young teachers. Yan Luxin and Yang You from HUST made a presentation in terms of scientific achievement evaluation. Two experts from leading companies in the industry, Fiber Home and Wuhan Jingce Electronic, made a speech on industry-school-research cooperation.

Hubei Province Information Discipline School Deans’ Meeting is jointly initiated by Qiu Caiming and deans of information discipline schools at Wuhan University, Wuhan University of Technology and China University of Geosciences，Wuhan, aiming to promote the exchange among information discipline schools and companies, and facilitate the coordinated development of industry, schools and research. The first meeting was launched in April, 2021 at Wuhan University, which will be held by different universities in Hubei Province semiannually.
