On the afternoon of March 4th, the delegation led by the president of HUST You Zheng visited EIC. Zheng Xiaojian, Chair of the School Party, Qiu Caiming, Dean of EIC and other faculty representatives participated in the activity.
You Zheng first visited National Anti-counterfeit Engineering Research Center. You Xinge, the Director of the center, gave an introduction of the center and showed the achievements in optical anti-counterfeiting and machine-readable authentication and in national major projects. At the meeting, Qiu Caiming introduced the development history of EIC and the efforts made by the school in talent cultivation, discipline development, scientific research and talent introduction, and also summarized the difficulties encountered by the school.
You Zheng recognized the progress made by EIC. He said that nowadays, China attaches great importance to the field of information and communications, which is an opportunity for the school, and EIC, as the school which enjoys traditional advantages, should seize the opportunity by taking an active part in serving national major needs and step up its development.
You Zheng pointed out the direction for EIC’s future work. He emphasized that the school should attach great importance to talent cultivation and invest the best resources in it, strengthen basic research and be bottleneck problem-oriented, and prepare for major platforms, projects and research teams. EIC should also optimize administration system by forming effective motivation mechanism.
