National Anti-counterfeit Engineering Research Center, supported by the School of Electronic Information and Communications of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, is a national R&D institution, specializing in the core anti-counterfeit technology.
Since the establishment of the center, it has made remarkable achievements in engineering technology research and development, result application and talent training. It has successfully resolved six common problems in the field of anti-counterfeit, and boasts seven core technologies taking a lead worldwide. To completely meet national anti-counterfeit demands, the center so far has undertaken 172 projects at national, provincial and enterprise level with a total of funding of 150 million CNY, including two national science and technology projects of the “Twelfth-Five Years Plan”, namely “Research on Integrated Anti-counterfeit Technology and System Development” and “Research on the Key Technology of Anti-counterfeit Identification and Traceability”, and a major international collaboration projects, “Collaborative Research on the Key Technology of Anti-counterfeit and Test of Financial Instruments and Application”. The center boasts 104 national authorized patents and 23 software copyrights. Members of the center have hosted and participated in the formulation of eight national anti-counterfeit standards, and won 14 awards at national and provincial level. The center was awarded the grade of excellence in the ranking conducted by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2008 and 2012.
With the rapid development of Internet of Things, both the market and national product quality supervision system have posed high demands for anti-counterfeit traceability. In recent years, the center has set up an anti-counterfeit traceability laboratory and a national professional committee on product quality traceability in collaboration with a number of associations and corporations possessing national anti-counterfeit technologies in 2014.
