Internet technology is one of the current research focuses in communications. Internet Technology and Engineering R&D Center has carried out a series of research focusing on some hot topics and research problems in the field of Internet, which enables the domestic research on communications to closely keep up with international research frontier. At the same time, the center attaches importance to the disciplinary integration of communication system and network application. It is one of the earliest laboratories in China that embarked on the research in some cross-research areas, such as E-commerce and distant education. The center has made contributions to the improvement of the discipline of communications in Hubei Province and the development of other related disciplines.
