Achievements of EIC in International Education

◆ In 2013, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) was among the first group approved as the Demonstration Base of International Education by the Ministry of Education. The School of Electronic Information and Communications (EIC) of HUST was elected as the demonstration school for international student training in engineering, and was awarded the Demonstration Base of International Education of the Ministry of Education - EIC by the School of International Education of HUST.

◆ EIC has invested great resources to build the modern teaching environment of the demonstration base.

◆ The courses in the field of electronics are provided for international students in HUST by the Instruction Base of Electrotechnics and Electronics of EIC.

◆ EIC was approved to train international student (undergraduate and doctoral students) majoring in communications, who are financially supported by China Scholarship Council.

◆ In 2017, entrusted by the Ministry of Commerce, EIC began to undertake the graduate program in Information and Communication Engineering provided for the international students from developing countries.

◆ In September 2020, EIC was entrusted by the School of International Education of HUST to establish the Macro Engineering Education Base for International Students of HUST.

Curriculum Development

◆ EIC now is striving to improve the quality of courses taught in English. Two English-taught courses were awarded the Quality Course for International Students by the Ministry of Education, namely Foundation of Information Theory and C Language Programming.

◆ During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, three English-taught courses for undergraduate international students of EIC, The Principle of Microcomputer, Design, Test and Experiment of Electronic Circuit and Analog Electronics Technique, were among the first 302 English courses available on the International Online Education Platform of Chinese Universities which is established by the Ministry of Education.
